I miss the Cold War. I got to do lots of very interesting research with basically unlimited funding. On the EU side, it seems they are using this chance to do something they have been talking about for a long time. This is the setting up of an EU military. I think it was Macron who said in a speech that the EU needed its own military to deal with threats like China, Russia and the US. Yes, he mentioned the US in the same vein as China and Russia. So, don't be surprised that the EU is solidly behind Ukraine.
