  1. Never ever do this or have this done. Just invest in good, new (never buy used) tyres, they're the only contact you have with the road. Driving is very expensive, something you'll simply have to accept. Don't cheap out, it's not worth the risk.

  2. ​ @Genericmug I know struggle, but I've never cheaped out on tyres. My life and that of the people I share the road with are more important than that.

  5. ​ @AzalofForossa It's allowed on lorries in my country (it was part of my job ages ago) but I wish it wasn't. Just another excuse for customers to cheap out, not giving a toss about the risk.

  7. I've done this professionally. In my country, east of the Atlantic, this is only allowed on lorry/HGV tyres, **not** on those flimsy car tyres. Is that legal in the US?
