But if you're convinced now, before you actually know anything, that you'll be lied to, then no matter what you're told, you'll reject it. That is the complete opposite of intelligent thinking.

You've been watching too many cop shows.
11
We don't know the details yet. Stop assuming.
9
Why is this the media's fault? Why are you focusing on them, instead of the people who flagged the guy down, and the policeman who went on the roof after him? Those "specific details" are just being revealed. This isn't a streaming show, where everything is already known.
9
@Mike-In-O-Town Thank you. Well said. I keep saying that. But they somehow see it as their American freedom to go off the rails, with absolutely no facts to back them up.
7
@kc550 "How do you know he didn't call it in?" These commenters don't know anything. It's like they're writing the story of what happened in the comments.
6
@imaouima Do you really think you have secret knowledge and insight into the government? Doesn't that make you officially cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs? Maybe don't advertise your mental state.
6
@DiabolikalFollikles The unanswered questions are due to the fact that details are still being learned. This isn't a streaming show. It's real life. And most everything isn't known at first.
5
It does take someone very imaginative, with no critical thinking skills, to go from "very fishy" to what we see in these comments.
4
@JKnSK Sure. The way Tucker Carlson always claimed he was "just asking questions." They outlined what, to them, are the only possible scenarios, when they don't know the details. That's called assuming. Their questions are rhetorical, and really just statements of the only possibilities.
4
@josephpublico2337 They release news statements like everyone else.
4
@goclimbsomething As you can see, your reasonable, logical way of thinking is totally lost on these people. They must believe they have super powers: They can see into the minds of others, and know their motivations; and they can clearly see the past.
3
People in the comments expect to know all the answers, when the details are still being learned and then reported.
2
@ThisHandleWasTheOnly1Available He didn't just say "weapon drawn." The OP said: "pull out his firearm and initiate the standoff right there on the spot." See your straw man, i.e., the difference? Probably not, go watch some more John Wick.
2
@StephenHancock-bv5zd That's all you have to say? Nothing about why it wasn't intelligent, or where my thinking went wrong, or even justification for the OP? @HANKHILLFORTXGOVERNOR If that was true then you'd agree with me. Deciding ahead of time to reject proof is the opposite of "going by proof."

@TGSureal Check out @missmorena1049 above this comment. See how fast it went from "very fishy" to "this sounds made up"?
1
@paulp.6399 That's not what "word salad" means. You just couldn't think of anything to write. Poor guy: Thinking must be so difficult.

@rocksolid1804 WHY IS YOUR CAPS LOCK ON?
1
@beelmars5400 Yeah? You can read their mind? Or you're an expert at broadcast journalism? One of those must be true, for you to claim "It only served for sensationalism." That or you don't have any idea, which seems the most realistic explanation.
1
@beelmars5400 That thing you used as an example wasn't "sensationalistic" at all. They just repeated something. Please learn what words mean, before you use them. And when you do learn the definition, then use the definition to explain how what you said is an example of it. Otherwise, your opinion is of negative worth.

@DiabolikalFollikles I rarely see such wisdom as yours. Thank you for sharing.
