Yes, that "somber tone" was just acting. Trump is a Reality-actor. I remember when he established his presidential scowl. I've noted the difference in his rally voice, and his State of the Union voice. I've heard all his catchy nicknames for political opponents. Who knows what he really thinks or believes: maybe nothing; maybe it's all just a TV show to him, and he's the star.
