When George Lucas first sold Lucasfilm to Disney, I thought it was a huge mistake. But if this actually hurts Disney, and they're forced to stop making movies and TV shows using beloved stories from my far, far away childhood, and since George got $4 billion for it...then I call it justice. Choke on it, Disney, you cliched hacks.

@EpicJoshua314 I notice you didn't say how it was wrong. And that's because it wasn't. Not a word of it, let alone EVERY WORD. Also, try not responding with a cliche. And, also-also, if you're going to respond to something from three months ago, at least make it worth my time to read.

I haven't seen the movie. Don't know that I will: Haven't been to the movies in over 20 years. But there's one quick correction, clarification I want to throw on the pile. The definition of "feminism: the equality of the sexes." It is NOT putting women first, or putting down men. If it's name has been used that way, then it's like calling Disney's Star Wars, "Star Wars." It is not. It's using the name to do something completely apart from what it is.

"Because you all think that I can't" is not a reason to hunt. Nor would a Comanche woman think that way. If they want to make a strong female native American hunter, fine: do a film about Lozen, the Apache. The film could be about the last days of the Apache roaming free "like the wind." Goyaałé (Geronimo) could be in it, and Lozen could save the pregnant woman from the attacking Americans. She could use her power to communicate with nature and locate the soldiers. Of course, it would end on a downer, with her being captured, and dying in prison. But strong people don't always win in the end. Instead, we get this garbage.

@charlymacias5369 "I mean that he didn't explode as science says, so according to our boy Scatter, he has the same protection as a strong female character." If his exploding was the sole result of being impaled by a lightsabre, or impaled by anything, then I'd say you have a point. But it isn't. And you don't. The science used here is the final nail in the coffin. It isn't the only reason. Lucas wasn't much on science either, as the Drinker discussed. The point is Qui-Gon died because he was impaled. And the girl did not.

@peabrain6872 "maul." Not sure what point you wanted to make, with that one word. But we already went over Darth Maul. He died in Lucas' prequel trilogy. Deader than a door nail. Done. Because he was cut in half by a lightsabre, and fell who knows how far. He was brought back by some post-Lucas garbage. And that's what this TV show is.

Why is it so dark and dreary? Whatever color there is got mixed with black or gray. Do all comic book movies try to imitate Tim Burton's Batman, but without the gothic, noir fun?

Creating controversy to sell your product is also how politics works. Since Drinker mentioned 2016, I can't help but think back to what else happened that year, in the world of politics, and what we've seen ever since.

I think the problem is...a lot of people absolutely love CGI. The more the better. And care little for plot or anything else in the movie.

@alexheisenberg8709 "Poe is not a flyboy hero." Yes he is. This was established in the opening crawl for Force Awakens, in the final paragraph: "Leia has sent her most daring pilot on a secret mission to Jakku, where an old ally has discovered a clue to Luke's whereabouts . . . .” "He is a soldier who still has so much to learn and he need to realize of that." Okay. What does he have to learn? The writer needs to develop Poe? Great! Do it. But Rian didn't do it. Holdo didn't put him in his place, or teach him anything. Rian wasted that opportunity, as he wasted every other opportunity. "Luke isn't a wise old jedi... wait... HE IS. He gave rey two valuable lessons despite the fact that he didn't give her a proper training." Luke is obviously the wise old Jedi. The entire first film of the sequel trilogy was spent looking for him. Only to have Rian waste that opportunity. The reason he only taught Rey as little as he did was because Rian wrote it that way. I stick by my original post. Rian didn't replace the characters and plot with anything. Who was Snoke? Nothing. Who is Rey? Nobody. Abrams tried to fix that, but it was too late: Snoke: clone. Rey: Emperor's descendant. The whole thing was pathetic, worse than a first-year creative-writing undergrad's first draft.

@alexheisenberg8709 "nine months after? Seriously?" Yes. I went into the hospital for 5 surgeries over three months, nine months ago, so right after you replied. And I just happened to scroll down, after watching Drinker's critique of Holdo again, which is when I saw your comment. Sorry to inconvenience you After skimming through what you wrote, I saw this: "The last jedi is an underrated masterpiece." You have your opinion, and your welcome to it. But there are certain facts about good story telling that aren't open to opinion. Anyone who interprets The Last Jedi in such a way isn't worth any more of my time.
