  2. So if we get all our rights from God, then why did women in the U.S. not get the right to vote until 1922? Why was there even slavery in the U.S., given that the Emancipation Proclamation would set them free--in a few centuries? And why did the slavers use the Bible story about "the Curse of Ham" to justify their slavery? We apparently didn't need a Constitution, or amendments, or any law at all. And we certainly don't need government oversight enforcing whatever they interpret God's "given rights" to be.
