  1. I love to hear the historical perspective of what's happening now. Well done! Some of it I know, like the roving gangs of white nationalists in pre-WWII Germany, who vandalized businesses owned by Jews and attacked the Jews. But I didn't know about the U.S. being against Haiti because the slaves rebelled and won. I knew the U.S. cracked down hard on slave rebellions here, and on slaves here when there was a slave rebellion outside the country. Thank you for teaching me something new!

  2. Like the Confederacy, they'll do some damage first, mostly through terrorist bombings, fires, etc. But, like the Confederacy, they won't be able to hold out. They lack the money, supplies, and the ability to resupply themselves. Like the Confederacy, the rest of the world won't come to their aid. They'll be isolated. William T. Sherman summed it up: "We cannot change the hearts of these people of the South but we can make war so terrible...make them so sick of war that generations will pass before they ever again appeal to it." Generations have passed.

  3. They'd have to be committed en masse. There are millions of them, though, tens of millions. But, yes, they are a threat to themselves and others--not just the civil war thing, but being anti-mask and anti-vaccine. And now they're making laws against abortion, changing what can be taught in schools to kids.

  5.  @bigpapa.B  That's a really good question. Trump had already floated the idea that he deserved an extra term, because the Dems wasted so much of his term with impeachments. So he already wanted a third term. And if he would have pushed for it, does anyone really think his rabid supporters would have not voted for him?
