  1. "The right to be wrong." This is it. I've been trying to figure this out. Republicans know they're wrong. They're going against science, which can be proven, with their conspiracies, which can barely be articulated.

  2.  @Aspartame69  More whataboutism. Even if all that's true, so what? It's doesn't change what's happening RIGHT NOW with the Republican party. They believe they have the freedom, the RIGHT to be wrong. I think that's a fascinating understanding, which you're ignoring.

  3. Really, this whole time I've been wondering why they keep invoking their "freedom." But no one has (or should have) the freedom to potentially infect other people, sending them to the hospital, getting an enormous bill, maybe even dying. Then these people talk about how others can do as they want (wearing masks, etc.), and should let them do what they want (by not wearing them). But if we think of it as their "right/freedom to be wrong," then that clarifies some things.

  4.  Boomer  "What is the Republican party wrong about?" Lately, vaccine denial and refusal to wear masks. They're wrong because they speak as if its "their body, their choice," when it's a highly contagious variant of a virus that's already killed half a million Americans. With Black Lives Matter, their denial only shows that black lives do not matter to them. Which shouldn't be a surprise, given that no lives matter to them, since they refuse to take the vaccine. Finally, with abortion (in Texas), though the right appropriated "my body, my choice," they blatantly ignore where that saying came from. They believe they're saving unborn babies, but they're doing so at the cost of the mothers' health and well being, and, therefore, the baby's life with that mother. I understand that it's likely a Christian thing to them, to save an unborn baby's life. But for every unborn they "save," they throw the mother under the bus, and, therefore, ruin that baby's life. Republicans are wrong, not just because they believe they're right without possibility of error, but because they see being wrong as their right: the ultimate expression of their American freedom.

  5.  Boomer  I'd like to point out that the purpose of this thread was to discuss how Republicans believe they have the right to be wrong. So far, almost everyone who has commented hasn't discussed the topic, but gone off with their own rants, distractions, etc. Your comment above has nothing to do with this thread, nor does the one above you. I answered your question about what Republicans have gotten wrong, as that was the closest I've seen to sticking to the topic. Can people on here not discuss a topic? It seems like trolling and one-upmanship.
