Typical play from the right wing: They say the "left" is indoctrinating kids and students, while conservatives are very busy actually indoctrinating kids and students. "Accusation in a mirror."

Of course they couldn't ban CRT, since it wasn't being taught. But they could call it CRT in public, so their base has a buzzword. Then, in the wording of the ban, outlaw any talk of African Americans being treated in any way but kindly, during slavery and civil rights. And that's what they did.

@Roheryn100 That's right. Conservatives are just using CRT as a buzzword. When they ban CRT, it's in the writing of the ban that what they're really outlawing is the teaching of anything about African Americans, that has to do with white people of the time treating them in any way but fairly. But they call it CRT, knowing their ignorant base, like good Pavlov's dogs, won't stop to wonder what CRT actually is, and will just respond to the buzzword.

That's what you came away from this video with?

I don't see how her choice of words, in that instance, makes her brain dead. Maybe that just makes it easier for you to dismiss what she said?

@imanoldgeek "It wasn't only the one misused word. It was the entirety of what she said. Much like other liberals, she cherry-picks arguments and uses straw man methods to "validate" her claims." Where are your examples? See, if you gave them to start with, I wouldn't need to ask. You even posted a second time, and still no examples. But you did share something of importance: You're biased toward "liberals." You're so biased that one word choice means they're "brain dead," which I seriously doubt you're qualified to determine. But, please, let's see some examples. Dissect this video. Don't just "cherry pick," as you said, or use "straw man" arguments. And spare me the all-liberals do this and that junk. Use your intellect and tell me what's wrong here.

Southern conservatives. Better? By the way, I'm from the south, and didn't feel like they were speaking about me at all.

Odd, @Woof, because you're being smug.

@marisha.art.channel It was about the state's right to own slaves. "Bleeding Kansas" was when the water boiled over. And when Lincoln was elected (without a single southern vote, because they knew he was anti-slavery), the South seceded. There were other states coming into the Union, like Kansas. And the South was worried the new states would use their state's rights to not have slavery. And, sooner or later, that meant there would be a national vote to ban slavery. So the Civil War was about slavery. Any thought to the contrary owes its reasoning to The Daughters of the Confederacy.

@jamesratliff5164 It's okay. We're all still learning, and never stop learning. No one knows everything, even though there are lots of people who believe they do.

@fantastic_4ork Wait, so you didn't come away from this video thinking only (or mostly) that she needed a new mic? But you felt like commenting only on that? How does that work?
1
@fantastic_4ork Just FYI, but when you comment in a public forum, you might get replies. And they (like me) might ask you to explain/elaborate on what you wrote. You then telling them/me how you don't have to do that--well, makes me wonder why you even commented to start with. Just trolling? Maybe you're a microphone expert, and you were put off by her lack of proper equipment? Ah well, what did I expect? Have a great day, yourself.

Money, first of all. They lobby politicians: pay them off, in other words. Secondly, "freedom of speech" needs to be better defined. Someone shouldn't have the freedom to spread lies, on a level that affects the country.
