  1. Police are used for way too many things, situations they aren't qualified to handle. There are exceptions: I've seen videos of certain officers who calmed a person having a severe manic episode, and taking care when talking to people with autism. There are good police officers. But they aren't really trained or qualified to deal with mental health issues.

  6. Imagine you're a wanna-be alpha male, who became a cop, and you just got in many, multiple rocket launchers. Wouldn't they want to use them? Power corrupts. I'd personally be curious as to how it felt shooting those rockets, and I'm not even an "alpha." So people who are would surely be corrupted immediately. They would want to demonstrate their power.
