@llew777 We can tax the rich like FDR did, and use that money to fund education. We need not only more funds in the already established schools, but start free night schools. The education system cannot go to tubby's house every week, and make sure he's studying on his own. That's up to him. But if we had free night schools, where the teachers were paid for by taxing the rich, then it could be free to attend. Though I think we'd need to go further than that, in my ideal imagining of this situation: I think that continuing adult education should be mandatory. We have tens of millions of people in this country who haven't studied anything in 20-50 years.

I don't think "fatphobic" is the term you're looking for. That would have to mean that people who pointed out someone's obesity were, in fact, phobic about others being fat. That was obviously not the case here. Also, "bigotry" doesn't really work either. He's not saying the guy who called the cops wrongfully did so because he was fat. David Shuster did use the words fat and tubby in a derogatory way. But that's it. He was neither prejudice nor bigoted, and certainly far from phobic.

@Churly "Guy goes to bank just to take photos. Waits for reaction. Someone takes the bait." On the other hand, if this little scenario you imagined isn't true, then your post is pointless.

"The guys recording are antagonizing people to create a verbal conflict with others purposely. And attempting to escalate a verbal conflict to a physical one by using insults. It's obvious the motivation is not to take beautiful pictures of a bank front, but to create a conflict and escalate until the recording has a value in court. This kind of behavior mirrors the crime of insurance fraud, and should be treated as such." On the other hand, if this little scenario you imagined isn't true in this case, then your post is pointless.

@garylefevers Cool how you know what that word means. I like that. However, I think you jumped the gun a little bit. You looked at the first sentence... "Why are hillbillies always so concerned about other people filming stuff?" ...without acknowledging the second: "This is an ongoing theme with these police videos that I do not get." So the OP wasn't talking about all hillbillies, but those we have seen "with these police videos." That's what they're talking about. And you dismissed it, by incorrectly saying he was being prejudiced, which would mean his statement is automatically fallacious. Secondly, even without the second sentence, @James Overholser asked a question. He wasn't judging anyone. If he was, his post would have read: "All hillbillies are all concerned with other people filming stuff." He obviously didn't write that. If you don't want to answer, then fine.
