  2. They're still calling the Democratic Party the "Democrat party." Why? Does anyone have any insight? I guess because they are both Republicans and the Republican Party, they don't really think about it? When you look up the definition for Democrat, it says, "member of the Democratic Party." So I'm not just imagining this. So what's the difference? Democrat is a noun. Democratic is an adjective. An adjective modifies a noun or pronoun. In this case, the noun is "Party." So it is the Democratic Party. Are they afraid "Democratic" wouldn't have the same dog-whistle effect as "Democrat"? Is it the one extra syllable? Someone help me understand this.
