"The USA is areligious when it comes to matters of legislation and governance." You're paraphrasing what you quoted. But that's okay. I agree. Though I wrote that we "should" be that way. "Secular means relating to the physical world and not the spiritual world." You stated the definition. Good. I know the definition. But it always helps to state it. I'm still in full agreement. I don't see the point you're trying to make though. Maybe I wasn't clear in my post? Maybe you want to argue the technical terms of the constitution, which I already said I didn't want to do? While you consider your thesis, here's mine, for the record: We are not a one-thing anything nation. We are not a Christian nation, or a secular nation. We are neither all country, nor all rock and roll. The one exception to that is we are a constitutional country. That's our one thing. And that's my point.

I'm not a constitutional lawyer, and I doubt you are either. But our country is based on freedom of religion. That means the government can't establish a national religion. And that should mean, therefore, no one who holds public office should ever pass laws based on their religion. But it also means we are not secular, because that would mean establishing an absence of religion among the general population: I don't mean public office. I also assume you mean the general population with your "We're a secular country" comment. We are not.

So he's saying he doesn't "support" the Constitution, then. Right? If that's his argument, this needs to be shouted from every rooftop: Trump says he doesn't support the Constitution. On the whole, are we really surprised?

The actual definition of secular: "denoting attitudes, activities, or other things that have no religious or spiritual basis." None! Got that, you nincowpoop? lol.
