It's not the education system. If it was, everyone would be affected. It is their lack of continuing their education throughout adulthood. You think maga is doing calculus and learning a foreign language in their spare time? Also, about 1% of the adult population in the U.S. has read a minimum of 5 books over the last year. So, many people aren't reviewing what they learned during formal education, let alone exercising their brain with new things to learn. They can't even read a book (any kind of book) every two months! Knowledge and the ability to think critically doesn't just stay in your head. It dissipates over time, unless reinforced. The responsibility is not that of "the education system." The responsibility is theirs. They failed themselves.

@shadebleu Jamaicans came from Africa too. (4th or 5th time I've tried to post this reply.)

@JoePackJoeNC You didn't look it up. I just did, and it came right up with a Merriam-Webster's definition: "a person of African descent born or living in a Caribbean nation."

Republicans have a hard time with definitions. They refuse to look up any. So they use words and terms in the wrong context a lot. They still don't know what "woke" means. And DEI does not mean that they were hired just to check a box. It was put in place because of white men in power not allowing any diversity, regardless of qualifications. But they use the term as a way to conveniently dismiss anyone who isn't a straight white male...which illustrates why DEI was necessary to start with. And the people hired still have to be qualified.

@RegisterRedVoteBlue I'm guessing we aren't going to get a reason why from them. I might be wrong. But my trolldar is beeping.
2
@RegisterRedVoteBlue Neat! I'll keep that in mind.

@DiscoDashco "Context is everything." Everything you wrote is so true. My ancestors came from France and England, though we've lived in the U.S. pretty much the whole time. But I don't really think of myself as Franco-English American.

Whatever happened to the liberals taking their gas stoves, guns, and Bibles? I thought all of those were supposed to be gone by now. Obamna was going to take their Bibles and guns. Remember? I think it was AOC who was going to take their stoves. How can Republicans not remember these failed panic-inducing tricks by their politicians and media?

@RegisterRedVoteBlue They're getting mine too. Ah well. Maybe they will respond.

@shadebleu Jamaicans came from Africa too. So they are also African in origin. The term is Afro-Jamaicans. Look it up.

@shadebleu Jamaicans came from Africa too. They're called Afro-Jamaicans for that reason.
1
@shadebleu No one is the same. But Jamaicans did come from Africa. The term is Afro-Jamaicans.
