  4. Even when he went before an audience of Christians, and the interviewer asked if he ever asked God for forgiveness, Trump said he never did--because there was nothing to forgive. Keep in mind, asking God for forgiveness is just part of being a Christian. But they still support him.

  5. Maple, yes: Lincoln didn't get a single southern vote in his first term, right before the Civil War. They were really upset that he wasn't pro-slavery.
