@BB-rh2ml and @marybrown7203 They didn't say "At 8 years old." A little reading comprehension wouldn't kill you. Your posts just try and deflect away from the point they were making.

@BB-rh2ml and @husk1061 What happened when they were 8 formed their opinion...as time went on. They didn't say they formed their opinion completely and totally, and solidified that opinion, when they were 8. We call those "formative years" for that reason. Plus, what difference does it make? What they said was true. Watergate and pardon of Nixon introduced a ton of mistrust in government. It's really not that hard to understand. Besides, you want to try and turn this into a creative writing workshop, or you want to talk about the idea? Either way, you obviously can't hack it.

@marybrown7203 I'm reading two books right now, thanks. Breakfast of Champions, by Vonnegut; and The Pegasus Bridge, by Stephen E Ambrose. The point is you and that other person assumed the OP meant "At 8 years old." They didn't say that, though. So you would have to make that connection yourself. I did not. It made more sense to me that something big happening at 8-years old LEADS to, or RESULTS in such an opinion as the OP stated. You, on the other hand, made the assumption that this lifetime of growth happened entirely at 8-years old. When the writer doesn't specify some detail, you go with what best suits the most reasonable scenario. Just by you thinking it was "incredible" should have suggested that maybe you didn't understand, or assumed incorrectly. I suggest reading good writers, so you can develop reading comprehension. Because reading the rules doesn't seem to be working for you. Maybe your style of learning requires examples.

@BB-rh2ml I am not the ignorant one here. I am also not the one focusing on some aspect of the OP's writing, instead of on the post itself. I believe the word for that is trolling. Muting you and the others, who have only derailed the point.

@BD-uw1kq I notice you haven't told me how I'm wrong, except in some way that could be easily refuted. But, you are wasting my time, and causing a further derailing of the OP's point. So I'll mute you, and enjoy never having to read your lame thoughts again.
