  1. This is political theater. Republican politicians learned how to appeal to their base, and keep their interest and votes. Their base deals in memes on Facebook, etc. Of course, normal political discourse suffers, because those Rep. politicians can't turn around and speak to the baby-killing Dems, or talk about infrastructure or science: They'd lose their base. So it's all a reality TV show.
