  1. Trump wants to be Orwellian, but he's too stupid. If not for his even dumber base, he would never have made it out of the primary. They also want him to be Orwellian, as all their ostensible patriotism is a flimsy disguise.

He gave it focus and even pride. His supporters are extremely prideful. Truthfully, I'm glad he brought the problem out of the closet, or at least another step out of denial. The first step to solving a problem is admitting you have one.
