  2. In the early days of Hitler and the Nazi party, they would claim all sorts of outrageous stuff about Jewish and Socialist professionals living in Germany. These were meant to instigate hate and violence, by insinuating that such thoughts and behavior were justified, since the Jews and Socialists were doing such terrible things. Of course it was all lies, big lies; but each lie took weeks and months to investigate and disprove. By that time, the damage had been done, and there were many more new lies--so many that not all of them could be investigated. It was an avalanche of propaganda, meant to turn ordinary people into insane, violent bullies and killers. That is exactly what's going on here.
