  1. I think Trump lies because it's a power play to him. He wants people to believe him, or at least pretend to, because that means they're scared of his power. So when anyone questions him, that means they aren't scared. And that triggers him, reminding him that he's pathetic and weak. Then he has to lash out, to reassert his dominance.
