If they were lying before, with their extreme views on abortion, and are now revealing what they really believe, then they still lied. If they had honestly changed their minds, then they should have admitted doing so in public: say how they were going along with what the people seemed to want, but just couldn't do it anymore. Of course, they wouldn't get elected then, but they could say they were dropping out of the race because they had been dishonest to the public. This might have given them a possible future run, even as a Dem. But they didn't do that, which means they probably didn't come to their senses. They're liars through and through.
