  2. The Republican politicians are only in it to win it. They don't care about abortion, one way or the other. And I doubt most of their base cares either, since they're in it for either the culture war or because Jeebus spoke to them in a dream. Bottom line: Republicans are crazy, bats in the belfry, surely gone fishing. And when swing voters, undecided voters, or people who'd only vote for them because of the (R) by their name hear the really dumb ideas coming from the party, they'll lose.
