@peggymccabe5090 That's pretty much it. You defined it better than I've ever seen, without quoting the actual definition, by which I mean closest to the wording of the actual definition. Here it is: "Woke is an adjective derived from African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) meaning "alert to racial prejudice and discrimination"." I think you're right, that, while still being about race, it has grown to encapsulate all social injustice.

If anything, I think Republicans' anti-woke campaign accomplished the exact opposite of what they hoped. Had it not been for their incessant bigotry and insanity, a lot of people would have been unaware of the prejudice. Republicans actually raised awareness of the thing they're against. They shot themselves in the foot.
