But what about the rest of the time, when they're not being shot at by mass shooters? What if they're never shot at, and therefore don't need to say a last goodbye?

@scotchbarrel4429 Yes. Mass shootings occur almost weekly. But do they occur weekly in every single school? Do they occur at least once, say, in every single school? What if they never ever happen in a school? Then letting kids keep their phones--even when the teacher is trying to teach them--just on the off chance that they might need the phones for their last words...is absurd. At the very least, put the phone away UNTIL the shooter comes, then use it for your last words. Really, this is one of the dumbest arguments I've seen on YouTube. How can you defend it?

I'm glad I grew up before cellphones. I watched TV from (nearly) the time I got home from school, to when I went to bed. But I couldn't take the TV with me when I went out, let alone when I went to school. Even now I leave my cellphone home, when I go out: I think of it as a land line. I don't want people calling me, texting me: Leave a message, and maybe I'll get back to you. I doubt the kids are using their phones to learn anything. They're probably not looking up the definitions for words, or looking at pictures of quasars. They're just messing around. A lot of kids don't want to learn. They believe they know everything already, and that will likely continue into their adulthood, if adults don't intervene.

@J Anda Agreed.

@digydog205 Okay, you replied that same thing to everyone. Granted, everyone assumed you meant that you were okay with kids using phones in class. Why did we assume that? First, the video is about kids using their phones in class. Secondly, you didn't qualify that at all in your post. You just said that kids would need their phones, in case they needed to say their last words to their parents. I guess you needed this straw man, about kids not using their phones in class, instead of focusing on all the points everyone made? Maybe next time write what you mean. We can't read your mind.

Most anything can be bad, if used too much.
