The population of the United States is about 340 million people. With that many, I'd guess that every possible human perspective is represented by some--including people who haven't paid any attention at all to this political circus. It should help you to accept this even more, when considering roughly half of the voting age population in the U.S. doesn't bother to vote: That's how interested they are. So it stands to reason that there are some who do vote, but also hardly keep up with all this.
