  1. A country where half the voting-age public doesn't vote. And, of the remainder, a little less than half think like they just left the Ice Age; and roughly one-fourth care enough to vote, but not enough to pay attention; and, finally, the rest of us, who struggle (futilely?) to not allow corporations to run the government like it's their own personal Disney World. I could go on, but it gets depressing.

  2. "just casually throws that in there." That's the craziest part. It's not even his point, though I think it's supposed to prove his point...? Maybe? He reminds me of Grandpa Simpson, and his old-man stories about "tying an onion to your belt, which was the style at the time."
