  1. To be able to say they tried to impeach Biden. First, the optics of all of this was for their base, but especially going through the apparently legal, official motions of impeaching him. Secondly, since Trump was impeached, they want the optics of taking revenge, but they're also genuinely petty enough to suck up to Trump by trying to impeach Biden. Finally, this is the same thing they did to Hillary, and it worked back then: They want to show Biden (as they showed Hillary) being in court, having to answer questions, always blasting her (and Biden's) credibility and trustworthiness.
