  1. A lot of people cannot pull themselves up, I would even go so far as to say that most can't. Of course historically, people, particularly soldiers, were significantly stronger than modern day desk workers. I am an archer, use a 50 lbs bow and quite a few people at my association (most archers use recurve bows at my club at around 25 lbs) cannot pull my bow.

  2.  @reiniernn9071  well for kids it's a lot easier than for adults. Square cube law makes weight go up a lot more than muscle power. I was mostly talking about adults. I can easily pull up 30-40 kg as well. But the 100 kg I actually weigh absolutely not.
