 @TheMrFellaTV yeah I have no fucking clue what she's talking about and I've been paying taxes for years. I get money back every year, because you always pay too much beforehand.

@n3viem yes that was my point. And usually you get money back at the end, since the system is designed in a way that it's almost impossible to pay too little. If you get a raise in the middle of the year, you're getting money back at the end for example, since you're paying the full taxes over that, even though your average salary over the whole year was lower. If you start your own company things are different, but then you actively choose to do that. If you just get a job, no, all taxes is money your boss paid before you ever saw said money. It's the Netherlands btw, but I believe this is pretty much the standard almost everywhere outside the US.
