No one is building new chruches in the Netherlands anymore. In fact many old ones get converted because they are all practically empty. The vast majority of Dutch people just do not care about that, and the Netherlands is one of the most succesful countries on the planet (according to things like the human development index). So clearly the city is not failing, nor is the rest of the Netherlands. By every resonable metric we are doing far better than the US is for example.

Did you even watch the video? The housing there is increadibly affordable. Social housing is literally illegal to rent out to rich people. These houses are designed to be affordable to people that don't even have a job. The poorest people in the country can live there. All social housing is under the 'huurtoelag grens' which means that it can't be more expensive than 879,66 euros per month in 2024. That's not only for the rich.

Because that already exists. It's a town nearby that used to own what was back then basically just some fields. This happens quite often in the Netherlands that bigger cities get parts that used to belong to other municipalities, since it doesn't really make sense to keep it for the old municipality. This would mean that they suddenly have a second town that is the same size or even larger than the orgininal town in their municipality which is practically connected to a much larger city, while for the original town there's a whole forest in between. It makes sense on a practical level to annex it (that word sounds rather extreme, but in this context it just means that 1 municipality gives the land to the other, they are both institutions of the same government after all).

@VyCanisMajorisCSA first of all is that a problem? Second of all no. People going to mosques in the Netherlands is actually in decline and has been for a while.
