Comments by "Astrum" (@astrumspace) on "The Tragic Final Images NASA's Spirit Rover on Mars | Opportunity Episode 4" video.
Out of all my series, these videos are definitely the hardest to make. If I had to do these every fortnight, I'd be dead! But thanks for the positive comments!

There's not much else on Mars 😅 also the mission needed to find bedrock to investigate, no better place than craters because the digging has already been done.

It's a science mission, looking at objects beyond visible light reveals properties about rocks etc.

If you paid attention instead of trying to look for holes in the story, you would have heard that there were two rovers, Spirit shut down and died, Opportunity carried on.

Extremely observant of you, but if you look even closer during those shots at the top right of the screen, you'll find your answer.

Two!

It has in fact taken photos of stars. So either you guessed that or your source of information is wrong.

Haha oh dear that was a clumsy mistake by me! Thanks I won't forget that again 😅

Going great thank you!

British spelling, the crater is named after HMS Endeavour https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Endeavour

These missions are 20 years old, once they launched there was no upgrading the hardware. The new Curiosity rover had colour cameras and could record video.

I think if there was a significant portion of the public that didn't believe in the moon landings, maybe they would (although people would then probably cry out that the rover was fake too). As it is, I don't think they want to waste their budget appeasing a small minority when there's science to be obtained elsewhere. Honest answer!
