Comments by "Astrum" (@astrumspace) on "Why All The Planets Are On The Same Orbital Plane" video.
There seems to be some confusion about how there are some moons that orbit their planets retrograde. These are moons that are captured objects, objects whichs did not form alongside the planet. These are known as irregular moons, different from the regular moons which formed with the planet and thus orbit along its plane.

@nettyz833 yes exactly!

@ctcook8374 you know that if you look at a clock from behind, then it will go counterclockwise from your perspective?

Yes, it may seem paradoxical, but both entropy and emergence exist in unison. Maybe I'll do a video about it!

Re Saturn moons, there's a difference between regular and irregular moons. Retrograde moons are irregular, likely captured objects, not forming alongside the planet.

Their orbits aren't retrograde, their rotations are

I was already worried my explanation was getting too complicated in the video, but this comment is great for anyone that wants to delve a little deeper. Thanks!

Clockwork is not the same as clockwise 😝

The coriolis effect is a lot less powerful than you think. The forces really need to be uniform for you to be able to notice it from Earth's rotation. I can just as easily make water spin around a sink in whatever direction I please, no matter the hemisphere. In this case, there were simply more balls going one way than the other.

Hydrogen just binds easily to other atoms, like oxygen for example

I can't be sure everywhere in space favours clockwise. Depends what other planetary systems consider north and south. On Earth, clockwise or anticlockwise can depend on external factors, like the Coriolis effect.
2
It's all about north and south 🙃 they'd all be going counter clockwise if we viewed them from the appropriate side

Thank you! From this model, if there is a planet that orbits the opposite direction to the others, chances are that it would be a captured planet from another solar system, rather than one that formed alongside the rest
2
Can't tell if that's a good or bad thing!

We only see the ones that do. 95%+ of them aren't aligned with us

No you are!

Great answer David! And yes, the source of water is still being debated.
