Not a popular opinion, but... in most industries mandatory vaccination is abhorrent, however, in this instance I believe the patients of the NHS have the right to be treated in the safest environment possible.

@patthewoodboy I don't believe these are equivalent opposites. Patients with disease may require hospitalisation, whereas a hospital does not need unvaccinated workers to function. In any other industry, I would agree this measure is draconian, but not in health and the care sector.

@floydisnutz8443 This is a situation where the rights of the unvaccinated clash with the rights of the potentially vulnerable patient, and in this instance, the patient's rights are a priority.

@rcfokker1630 I was using the terminology of previous poster. Ok, if you’re gravely ill, I’m guessing you would want to be cared for by someone who is less likely to be infectious.

@floydisnutz8443 good point about testing, although I suspect vaccination is more reliable than testing alone, however, sometimes the rights of individuals do clash.

@Ben_3113 I'm usually the first to say "thin end of the wedge", and mention a frog in various states of water, but in this instance, there are reasons for an exemption which I've already explained.
