This is a subject I've taken for granted for decades, without actually understanding it. Thanks for this!

It makes Windows 10 look like the bloated mess that it is. Great video!

Someone please explain to me why technical channels, such as this one, consistently get downvotes on their videos? The content is accurate, well-made, and interesting (to those of us that find the subject matter interesting), yet there's always downvotes. What are they finding exception to?
73
It's always good to see "Mr Scissors"
57
@ExplainingComputers You don't demand any cash from us, either 🤣
18
@TheSaabClinicUK thirty gigs? It's not that long ago hard drives were 30 gigs. Lazy coding, and a bunch of legacy functionality no one uses is probably to blame.
10
I get "Philip" and "Allen" as names for screwdrivers, but I have no idea how we might refer to a "Flat Head".
9
That's a lot of technology for the money!👍🏻
8
I love me a list! More lists, please. Best Raspberry Pi alternatives, best OS, etc... top stuff. Come on, half your viewers are on "the spectrum", and there's nothing we enjoy more than a list. 😂
8
@TBMartin yes, Mr Scissors made a personal appearance to open the antistatic bag.
8
You'd think so, but he's good friends with Bobby Box-cutter.
6
267 likes and no dislikes... Looking good so far.👍
6
In case of American viewers... "Stanley, the knife" is, in fact, "Billy Box Cutter."😂
6
"Answers in a postcard" ages all of us. 😅
6
I have literally no use for this... Why do I want it so much?
6
@Terran.Marine.2 possibly. I thought "Buzz", as a buzz cut is a form of flat head.
5
It's great to see a raw, unedited "warts n all" video. USB upside down (twice), screen upside down, a cellophane mishap, it all adds to the mix. I'm thinking of getting a lattepanda for game streaming, but I don't need the more project-based arduino malarkey... Suggestions for a x86 SBC, anyone?
5
I've never seen anyone so excited to see a blue LED. The ice tower does look like a beast, though 😀
5
Sixteen years on YouTube is the longest overnight success I've ever heard of. You deserve the subscribers, as you've produced some great content, especially recently. Well done.👍
4
Shame it's on the bottom of the board, as it adds to the look. Also, it's a shame its not compatible with that massive heatsink.
4
We all love a good SBC video! 👍
4
This would be perfect as an emulator for a dedicated computer, such as the Amiga or Spectrum, etc. However, there's precious little space for the relavent sticker. I understand most people would prefer a streamlined formfactor, and I know this is nitpicking, but the channel's own build is far more appropriate in this instance.
4
Congratulations! I've enioyed all your videos, especially the single board computer content. I'm sure Stanley the knife is proud of his wear-and-tear.
4
You could ask the ducks to peer review your code.
4
@jakeryan3340 maybe so, but it doesn't answer the question as to why.
4
Can someone tell me what you would used 8GB of RAM for on a Pi? Mr Stanley?
4
The cookie nag should have been number one. Even if this list included the holocaust, the cookie nag should have been number one.
3
@terryashley4674 it's Stanley's American cousin.
3
I quite fancy an Aero, now.
3
Nice board, but that price!? Ouch!
3
Even the smallest heatsink makes a big difference. Where's my wallet?
3
I know AM4 is a bit of a dead-end, however, there's some real bargains to be had. The "early adopter" tax is real, and needs to be avoided. 😁
3
I really felt Mr Barnatt's frustration at poor Wifi.
3
The heatsink is a work of art. All surface area, all the time. 👍
3
I like SBCs and I like a good top five list. Bingo!!!
3
No one can accuse this channel of dumbing-down to appeal to the lowest common denominator. 😅
2
With all due respect, ARM processors rule, and I'm very much of the opinion that x86 chips drool. My certainty on this is incandescent. There. I said it.
2
Great demo, as always, but I'm not sure what the point of 32GB is on this kind of form factor?
2
Great to see that ultimate Pi right, again.
2
@ExplainingComputers thanks, I'll hang on and reserve judgement. 😁
2
Is this better than a Pi 400 with decent emulation?
2
This is unexpected Pi. I think we can all approve of unexpected Pi.
2
@codycast Yes, but what about my mother's virtue? Surely there's comments to be made about that?
2
Who doesn’t love a top five? 😀
2
Mr Scissors did a very precise job.
2
There’s something special about an anonymous-looking cardboard box full of anti-static bags. That’s a real unboxing!🤔😀
2
Mr Scissors dropped the ball, again!
2
My desktop case is twenty years old, and the front panel broke years ago. I refuse to invest in a new case, so all that's in the header is a momentary switch on the power pins. As long as atx is a standard, that case will always have a home.
2
I see how Apple would want cross-platform compatibility, but, looking at the peak of x86 applications, I can't help but think that Apple's desktop applications will be compromised for some time.
2
I'm guessing in this video, we don't find out if it runs Crysis. The back of the old computers were very colourful, weren't they? I liked the old PS/2 connectors that were half purple and half green, indicating both keyboard and mouse compatibility.
