  1. oh they did alright, after WWII, they gave from est of Berlin wall all the countrys to the russians. Under Stanilns regimes, smart/hardworking people were picked off and send to gulags, the rest were forced to sell they're lands by force, plus imposing russian culture, language and ideology. Even after the fall of URSS, these republics tried to get independence, with civil wars between the locals and the russians. Sooo i understand after such a war against the Germans, people had enough blood and misery but they left it and so the cold war camed
