It’s about the ITCZ. They don’t extend far enough south of the equator to create vorticity in the atmosphere in the south Atlantic

You have finally explained why Los Angeles is coldest in Dec than Jan! And the N Pacific High as it pushes the jet south into the subtropics also bring atmospheric rivers to the West Coast

Why is the Humid Subtropical Climate the most habitable climates on earth and yet probably the most weather disaster prone climate on earth?
2
No wonder we dont see Tropical Cyclones in South Atlantic as a result @casualearth9076 !

@cesarefildani5023 thats right! Chengdu's record low temp is -5.9C in 1975, Chongqing's at -2.5 in 1943 using official records in China The Qinling and Daba Mountains, the latter reaches as high as 3.7km at Mt Taibai in Shaanxi play an essential role in shielding the basin from the Siberian airmasses. Also, the tendency for cold airmasses to swing to the east as it heads south in the winter means that the North China Plain and the lower and middle Yangtze are easier targets to get them below 0C like in Wuhan, Shanghai, Nanjing cities. This means that for the most part, the sichuan basin also benefits from its more westerly position too. Here's the same youtube channel's video but this time on why east coasts are colder than west https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D9OBWlWRxk

Isn’t that why the Humid Subtropical Climates of Cfa and Cwa most vulnerable non tropical climate to tropical cyclones in the world?
1
@casualearth-dandavis But Dfa, Dwa, Dfb and Dfc have been affected by tropical cyclones before as New England, Atlantic Canada, Japan, Korea and North China demonstrate
1
@casualearth-dandavis Disasters Like Hurricane Fiona in Atlantic Canada and 1938 New England Hurricane makes me fear them!
