Yup. There is no such thing as a labor shortage; only a wage shortage and obstacles to migration.

Yeah, I joined the Marine Corps specifically because it was not the Army. I'd rather be dumb than fat, and I'm already pretty dumb.
36
That's...that's so weird. Haunting.
31
I don't think so. It can't do cargo because it's full of guns, so it wouldn't be used for cargo. I think it's that the C-130 is the base platform, but the preceding "A" is the modifier, so it's a C-130 modified for an attack role.
22
No they're not obsolete. The count to any anti-tank tactic or weapon has always been combined arms, which Russia doesn't seem to understand.
14
There's no aircraft called the "A-10 Warthog". That's just a nickname, and nobody would ever use those together. It's the "Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II" if you want to be fancy. I've honestly never heard anyone call it a Warthog in the military; it's just the "A-10" or "A-10 Thunderbolt II." The name comes from Fairchild Republic's WWII fighter, the P-47 Thunderbolt. Similarly, the Lockheed F-35 Lightning II was named after their flagship WWI fighter, the P-38 Lightning.

@interruptor oof. Right in the second amendment 😣

@neillthompson2 omg this. So much this. That was the best we had back in the day. Thanks for giving the next generation what we wanted more than anything.
5
@user-op8fg3ny3j Yup. I think that the MBT is on its way out, though, and we're never going to see anything remotely resembling our concept of a tank once we get established in space. The role will never go away, though. Having a fast thing that can carry a cannon while getting shot at is always a good capability.
4
I think this might be due to the frequency of the engines. If they're higher pitch, they will be louder up close than from far. That's why the Abrams' gas turbine is more quiet than the typical diesel of other nations' mbtd
3
@divinestrike00x78 we outsourced it to China. The irony of it all 😮💨
3
"Notional" yeah you've definitely been spending time with Marines 😅
2
It's not the fault of any specific technology that Zumwalt failed; it's that new systems are expensive to make work and making two of them make friends is even harder. We'll eventually get the Zumwalt, but the technology will be much more mature.
2
@hekkura It depends on how much protection. An unprotected battleship is simply a large cruiser.
2
I'll be real with you: those NK special forces are kinda' scary. Like yeah, I'll put my money on our own guys, but you're out of your fucking mind if you think I'd talk shit to their face.
2
Damn, that was NOT what I thought.
2
Need three. One spinning up, on underway, and one in port.
2
Opecuted No, it's not. Battleships are defined by their small number of big guns and their armor—mostly their armor, being nearly a meter thick on some places. Every modern ship has a laughable amount of firepower by comparison. Battleships no longer exist. A battle cruiser is just a particularly large cruiser designed to kill cruisers at this point.
2
What about battlecruiser
2
I bet they will drop the tattoo restriction now that we aren't in the desert anymore.

IF IT FLIES IT DIES

I like big boats and I cannot lie.
1
This is literally some red pill shit.
1
You finally made the video :)
1
The air force happened
1
It doesn't matter how someone reduces the amount of time that a missile can be detected and tracked. Speed is one way. Stealth is another. Flying low and maneuvering to avoid intercept are two more.
1
Bruh, haha. It definitely is not.
1
Y'all can laugh at the North Koreans, but the fact that is the same energy you get from Marines when you tell them that you they have to fight you for a box of crayons.
1
Y'all remember when the army was a backup? It is literally easier to get into college than the Army, and burger flippers make more money than some professionals with 4 year education. What kind of world did the boomers leave us in?
1
Well, I can't say it was what I thought.
1
They definitely weren't what anyone thought.
1
If the Mosins are coming out, then can we PLEASE SEE THE T34
1
The weird thing is that it would've been so hot inside the submarine that the passengers would've been vaporized.
1
The title seems off to me. Should it be "A New Strategic Weapon"
1
I predict that the Hardliners will shoot Putin in the back, then prosecute the war by themselves. If they lose, Russia is destroyed.
1
The army looks fuckin weak, man. Id rather the Marine Corps die than let it turn into that
1
Me Me Millennials already served, fam. We are old news, man. The only guys from our generation still servicing have grey hair.
1
Because getting promoted to Corporal comes with a second liver to dilute the liquor, right? 🧐
1
These things are so fucking loud, oh my fucking god
1
Bruh, that's another level of deep. I'm gonna have to think on that.
1
@veteranassassin4591 Because they're much slower than the rest of the cruisers and destroyers that would need to accompany them, so they wouldn't align with anyone's doctrine. Also, all the armor in the world won't stop a single missile from disabling you. While it's unlikely that a single missile would sink a battleship, it would probably force it to get repaired, taking it out of the fight. Battleships have enourmous crews that could better be used on several smaller ships with similar firepower. Battleships are also less flexible and require much more fuel due to their size. They can't simply be switched to nuclear power, either; it's basically impossible.
1
Opecuted False. A battlecruiser's displacement is significantly larger than a cruiser, and most all modern cruisers would have been classified as light cruisers in WWII.
1
Opecuted I'd say so, since it would still have more armor than literally anything that's been on the sea since the Iowa Class was retired in the 90s. I think their armor is more what stands out than their guns bc battlecruiser's could also carry guns above 12" and often did.
1
Opecuted Yeah, that's who always pays for it.
1
@AuxenceF Sort of. A battleship could probably survive several hits from Sam's before sinking, but even one would force it back to the drydock for repairs.
1
@AuxenceF No, not really. Iowa was extremely fast, but moving a lot of mass quickly requires a lot of fuel. We could do this with nuclear power, but, like, why bother.
1
@perlasandoval7883 I don't think you know what you're talking about. In their hayday, they were invincible.
1
I encourage every Private Conscriptovitch to defect. We in the West are not perfect, but I promise we won't treat you any worse than what you're experiencing at the hands of your leaders. Likely, you'll get fed.
1
@erner_wisal not this. This has got to be pretty decent.
1
@NotWhatYouThink anything in a cave for sure.
