  1. I'm sorry, but did you just imply that the US military could defeat an entrenched insurgency? For one, it is illegal to use the military in that manner. Second, did you just spend the last 20 years with your eyes closed?

  2. It is, and arguably, it's already started. However, it isn't going to be a conventional war, nor has it been as such. It's partisan violence; bombings, assassinations, terrorism, etc. This isn't people lining up to fight the South or whatever; it's very small cells operating semi-independently or completely autonomously. People not trusting their neighbors. Everyone refusing to use the internet without TOR and a VPN. That's where this is going.
