Goddamn, I just knew you were going to talk about Zeihan's work the minute you mentioned demographics. When you reference him, you need to take into account that his clients are mostly boomers in business, so he will say things that sound good to them. He assumes that GenZ, Millennials, and Gen Alpha will continue to be slaves to the boomers and that just isn't true. He assumes that GenZ and Millennials will have children as fast as their parents did, and that definitely isn't true, but he never acknowledges that. TLDR: The man is a geographic determinist who willfully neglects cultural factors when they do not support his thesis.

Demographics are the biggest reason that they need to act now. The US can sustain its current work force for another 30 years; China has less than 10. If they wait, their economy won't be able to match ours.

@dynamicascension981 That doesn't make his ideas true, though. He is a rigid geographic determinist and his bias towards "America number one" was a business decision. He has very good supporting arguments for his thesis, but he chooses to ignore cultural factors because he is out of touch and that's not his area of expertise.
