  1. The T-72A, sure, but the T-72 has a lot of variants and some of them are extremely capable by any standard, such as the T-72B3. It's not really fair to compare the T-72 to NATO MBTs because their doctrine is completely different. Almost every vehicle they can field has ATGMs, too. Also consider that Russian equipment is designed to be exported to anyone on any budget.
