  2. The US needs to send the hundreds of M1A1s that the Marine Corps abandoned. They aren't exactly "modern," let alone enough to brawl with the newest Chinese tanks, but they're better than whatever Russia seems to be using. Germany can barely get a full division together for training; if they don't want to part with their 2A5/6/7s, I understand, but if they're still holding onto Leopard 1s, that's just silly. What Ukraine needs is for the US, Germany, France, and Sweden to fire up their defense industries and start turning out new equipment.

  4. @William James Sidis That depends on the culture; military culture in the United States is not like that. With the exception of the guys who signed up right after 9/11, none of us are under the illusion that we are defending our homeland from anything. Well, the Navy is, sure, but every other arm is an offensive tool.
