  2. The USAF would never buy this. It's huge, and that restricts where it can land. It also looks like it needs a lot of maintenance just bc of how big it is. It wouldn't just need one, but it would need A LOT of parts. It wouldn't fill any role that more C-5 Galaxies couldn't fill, and we have a lot of those. It uses a lot of fuel and has a longer range, sure, but range isn't as much of an issue for the USAF bc it has bases everywhere and a tanker fleet bigger than anyone else by quite a lot. We're going 5o continue using the C5 until something comes out that reshapes doctrine so much that the C5 is no longer useful.
