Eh, sort of. The Swiss haven't been in a real fight in a long time. I wouldn't put them on the same level as the rest of us.
7
That's hilarious. We're not the good guys, but we're definitely not the bad guys.
6
Well, it's more the the British empire minus everything profitable
6
Inb4 he doesn't read the ToC
6
They don't have to do it right away. It's more important that the become big before becoming advanced. Becoming advanced always decreases population growth. Every. Single. Time. It would be bad policy to develop these nations into advanced economies before they are at their peak population.
4
Haha, have y'all meet white people?
3
Bro, not everything is a conspiracy. The most likely explanation is that there was a limited amount of cargo that could be taken out of Afghanistan and trucks and small arms just didn't make the cut. Is it a happy accident? Yeah, probably, but it almost certainly wasn't something that anyone was championing.
2
Sweden is a naval power with ports facing both of Russia's sea routes away from Northern Europe.
2
@parrot1442 Why would space not be touched by capitalism? If you want to be in space, ever, capitalism is the only way it will happen outside of military missions. Science just doesn't get a big enough budget to push us into space.
2
Putin is being forced to become more aggressive, just like when the US cut off the Japanese from oil exports.
2
Fuck yeah. France and the United States; Britain and Japan; the old allies are coming together.
2
@lordmike9384 But they still won.
2
Vietnam, Afghanistan, Korea, Finland...Terrain is arguably far more important than numbers or technology and Poland has the absolute worst possible terrain on the planet.
2
@nickg1895 Problem with SpaceX is that it can't do anything which won't make money. SpaceX and other companies will do more in Earth orbit than NASA, but nobody is going to be mining asteroids until NASA figures out how to make it profitable, first.
2
Ah, the Anglosphere: fucking France over at every opportunity
2
Jesus fuck, this comment section is full of PoliSci dropouts and conspiracy theorists.
2
Yeah, Poland and Finland are definitely gonna have a hard time.
2
Russia could be a democracy, but not if it keeps its size and shape.
1
Haha, I bet
1
There is one more part to an assault on Ukraine: cutting off the Baltic states road to the rest of EU
1
This looks like a good opportunity for another StuxNet virus attack on energy infrastructure
1
Again?
1
Uh, I think water will be first what with Egypt and Ethiopia.
1
@nickg1895 Developing a reusable rocket does not compare to developing a rocket in the first place. Show some respect.
1
Oh no. This is not good. I think we've lost, fam.
1
@DeanmC261993 China is no-ballsing the US into doing something. The US can either wait until it can't win or it can attack while it can. If Taiwan falls, the US loses support of all its Pacific allies. The win conditions are the war are simple: if the US can sink enough of China's ships, China loses. If China sinks two carriers, the US loses. That'd be a fairly quick war. It's probably going to happen within six years, according the the US Admiral in charge of the Pacific theater.
1
Yeah, okay, you do realize that the US military budget is a drop in the bucket compared to our social support systems, right? Like, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are where most of our money goes.
1
The second someone makes an effective autonomous fighter, there won't be any turning back.
1
A weaponized satellite is a terrible idea because its location will never be a secret. It may as well be a SLBM.
1
I feel like space will probably be the first theatre where warfare becomes completely autonomous. Planet-side, I think we won't get away from having people in the loop. Maybe as a controller of a group of kill-bots.
1
@mikew1374 Now here's the smort guy
1
Life will get worse for them if they begin to exploit those resources; a mine will make money regardless of how many of it's workers are dying if there aren't any other jobs.
1
Who else is up for Afghanistan Part 2
1
Afghanistan never wanted to change. It's not ready. It doesn't even have the basic infrastructure for democracy.
1
Yeah, as bad as it looks, all of the cities should be flattened by now, but they're not
1
@grimdolo918 and each projectile costs $5 million. Not an exaggeration. Railguns are mostly worthless right now
1
@dying_allthetime Bruh, how do you propose we could make a satellite that is a secret? There is no stealth in space. There's no way the meaningfully change trajectory in orbit. It would be worse than an SLBM because at least those can be protected by earth and concrete.
1
I don't think anyone will touch it; the only people who can attack stuff in space also rely on things in space, so the best policy is just to leave it be.
1
Okay, but I want y'all to team up with us to steal Greenland.
1
@ImperialDiecast Bro, are you willfully ignorant or are you just triggered?
1
Well, Ethiopia shouldn't fuck with Egypt's water. This could have been avoided.
1
Sorry, do you not want free laborors who pay taxes AND aren't eligible for Medicaid, Medicare, or Social Security? That's free money, bro.
