  1.  @Nucl3arDude  maybe helicopter pilots have a better relationship with the grunts because they're close to the ground and, even though they're flying, they're not invincible—not like a jet. They're close enough to see the faces on the people they kill (with optics). Idk, just an idea.

  3. No, there is one reason: the Apache is more expensive. The AH-1Z is worse in literally every way. Yes, it has a high top speed, but it does not want to stay in the air. The Marine Corps makes do with less, but it doesn't mean we wouldn't rather have the better weapon system.
