  2. This is absolutely true. If this happens, China looks more powerful than the US, and the rest of the Pacific states want to survive, so they choose China over the US; the US has effectively lost, then.

  3. Depth charges are kinda ideal for trench fighting, though. It's a weapon that isn't being used by the navy, has a large explosive charge, can easily be transported, and is an indirect fire weapon. It would be weird if they didn't use it for what they are.

  15. You're not understanding the cultural landscape. The Taiwanese people don't give a fuck one way or the other who wins as long as they don't get hurt in the process. If the people even have a hint that their government can't win, then they will demand a surrender. They're all Chinese and the only people with a real stake in the game are the people at the top.

  18. It'll be the Anglosphere and Japan, but everyone else is better off waiting to see who wins. I really don't like the idea of letting Japanese soldiers into China, though. They're already violating naval treaties and shit. Their ships even have the same names and the still use the Rising Sun.

  21. The JLTV won't replace the Humvee because it doesn't do the same thing. The Humvee is great because it is the most all-terrain shit you've ever had and it is light on logistics. Shit, it can carry enough of its own fuel to increase its range by up to 0.5x. it is perfect for zipping around behind friendly lines or finding nooks to hide. The JLTV can't do that. It's too big. Flips too easy. If either of them are targeted by a 20mm cannon, they're both going to get shredded. The JLTV is the right vehicle for the previous war.

  22. The strategic factors are much more interesting. ATGMs, winter, and F-35s are scary, but that doesn't compare to the US freezing the financial assets of Putin's supporters. If the US freezes everything, Russia can cut off natural gas and oil exports to Europe, but Europe is more politically stable than Russia, right now. Putin needs to win and take Ukraine or he will continue to look even more weak, which the one thing that can remove him from power. If he can't keep his supporters' pocket heavy, he loses the game. If worst comes to worst, the US does have enough energy available to support Europe for a very short period, but it's hard to say if it's long enough for Putin's control of the state to fail. Putin has bit off more than he could chew; he is kinda counting on China to be aggressive and pull US attention away from Europe, but that's not how China is going to win. All China has to do is wait, but Putin simply doesn't have that kind of time. China has a good 20 years, Russia has a few left to do what it needs to do
