  1. I have an acquaintance who moved to Laramie, WY 20 years ago. He saves enough from being there to easily cover the cost of flying to other cities for meetings if he needs to, and he doesn't even need to lock his doors when he goes out grocery shopping. He tells me that he and all of his neighbors are armed, and they leave ttheir cars unlocked with the keys in the ignition in case someone needs to get away from a bear.

  2. As recently as five years ago, I could still have considered leasing office space in San Francisco. Now, I don't see any hope of recovery in my lifetime. I feel sorry for anyone who bought property in New Detroit, but this is what they voted for.
