  2. 12:16 he's got that exactly backwards. It IS being pushed. The difference between the positive pressure behind the sail and the reduced pressure in front of it is the thrust.

  3. The whole reason why sails were superseded by the steam engine is that wind is unreliable. The question here is whether the marginal addition of power from these systems can save enough fuel to make them profitable.
