  1. Lee Kuan Yew did an amazing job. Singapore went from abject poverty to a higher standard of living then the UK in only about 30 years. The only natural resource Singapore has is location. They got rich by not tolerating corruption, and keeping the government out of people's hair.

  2. BTW, the top income tax rate in Singapore is 22%, and they have no tax on capital gains or dividends.
