  1. Every last STASI goon should have served at least a decade in prison, but that would have been too expensive to accomplish. Failing that, having each of them publicly flogged would have been a fine alternative.

  2. Over a third of the people in the communist prison colony of east germany were informers. I don't know how they avoided a massive bloodbath of revenge when the regime collapsed.
