  1. Pewtin thought he had a powerful army, too. Turns out that pervasive corruption translates into low combat effectiveness. Erdogan's conscripts are underpaid and underfed, as Turkey's economy is headed down Zimbabwe's path. If he ever ordered them to fight, they're more likely to kill him instead.

  2. NATO is not for dictatorships. Turkey should be expelled from the alliance until and unless they give Erdogan the Ceacescu treatment and restore democracy.
